what a night last night was. literally minutes after i wrote yesterday's journal, i walked out and played last night's show. i had no idea what an amazing thing that God was about to do. i believe that last night could've been my favorite times that i've played music. things like lights and sound were done incredibly smoothly, much thanks to don mccollister, who's expertise and general attitude really made this leg of the tour what it was; a true blessing. it was the first time in a long time that the music kind of got away from me at moments, and i was able to be no more than a pawn in God's performance. after the show i remember walking off stage into the dark and screaming at the top of my lungs, much like one would after the last night of a theater performance. there was a real freedom and camaraderie on stage that the whole band felt. it was an amazing gift that God gave to us. i'm so thankful for this band as a whole, and everyone in it individually. aric, for being such an incredible backbone, and always a very insightful word, regardless the subject. todd, for being a consistent example of Christ for us to watch, and for being so transparent in sharing about his weaknesses, therefore making his weaknesses into blessings. garett, for being such a kind soul, always ready to give you whatever is his, even the shirt off of his back (literally), and for bringing a musical intensity to this band that we never knew without him. danielle, for her wisdom so far beyond her years, and her incredible compassion for others that inspires all of us to love one another more. she has discipled me more than she knows over the years, with nothing more than her actions. cliff, for his truly amazing vision. cliff started this band, and without his direction, and making himself so available to God's guidance, we would be lost. i've learned more than i could possibly say from cliff. he is one of the most intelligent and wise people that i've met. he is such a blessing, and all of this in such a spirit of humility. cliff challenges me daily to discover more of what the Christian life can be, and should be, in a real and honest search for Christ. Buddy, there is so much that i could say about. mainly, he is our cornerstone, having such an incredible attitude of servanthood. he does his job so well, and never get's credited for his hard work. buddy is a good friend, and by far the hardest working member of this band. micah, our road manager (and buddy's little brother), has such a gift in dealing with people, and with the business of this band. he is one of the most reliable people that i've ever met, and the most trustworthy. he really keeps us moving day to day, and goes the extra mile hourly to keep things moving. lastly is our manager back home, kirby. i've known kirby for a while, and he's been through a lot. i've always considered myself so fortunate to have even known kirby. God used kirby in ways that he could never know. he (obviously under God's hand) is the sole reason for any success that we've had over the years. he's put in, and continues to put in, countless hours working for us, and believing in us. i've never had as close a friend, and you'll never meet a more selfless person. i truly love kirby. this has turned into nothing that i expected it to (this band, and this journal entry actually). God's blessing are so overwhelming to me at times, that all i can do is watch in awe as He works to complete His work in us. i believe that i'm beginning to see the very tip of what is meant by abundant life in Christ. God loves us in a passionate way, a protective way, a freeing way, a jealous way, a real way, and sometimes a violent way, much like His Son died. i pray that God will reveal more of Himself to me, and more of myself to me, causing in me a humility that only He can provide. thanks be to God for all of our many blessings, even as undeserving as we are. thank you for reading.

God bless-
derek
