Notes from the Road
fri 10:59 pm
tallahassee, florida
i hate missing days writing. we've had a great couple of shows. last night we were in birmingham, alabama. the venue there was huge and
beautiful. it was designed to project orchestras all through the room, because the top balcony was built as a reverberation chamber, so
the sound was a bit out of control. but as usual, don worked his magic and made it sound incredible. have i mentioned lately how much we
love don? just in case, we love don. don rocks. period. the show tonight was here in tallahassee, florida, and it was incredible. the
people here were so gracious and warm. the room that we played in was an 'in the round' setting and was very intimate, which is what we
love. the folks that showed up were incredible as well. ridgely, our fashionable opening band, rocked as usual and earned an encore.
have i mentioned lately how much we love ridgely? just in case, we love ridgely. ridgely rocks. exclamation point.
it's funny, but i can actually sense my strength running out, and God's strength taking over. then again, what is my strength really?
it's kind of vein of me to think that it was my strength to begin with, but i'm human and that's the way it feels. things really seemed
to gel tonight. all of the songs felt pretty good. we're pretty critical, so we never have a great night playing-wise, if you ask us.
things are feeling better and better though. the more that we get used to living on the road, and our respective bed times and diets,
the more comfortable we get, which definitely translates to the stage. i'm feeling kind of strange emotionally these days, probably
because of the whole life transition thing. i think that one just tends to get a bit reflective when seeing this much road fly by. i'm
gonna start sounding like a cliche' if i keep on this subject. i can feel a journey song coming on any minute. anyway, we've had no more
funky bus problems or anything, so there's really no exciting news. this should be a restful weekend. i hope that it is for you as well.
thanks so much for your prayers.
talk to you soon-
