Notes from the Road
fri 11:47 pm
greensboro, north carolina

i'm still cold from tonight's concert. we played an outdoor show in greensboro, north carolina. it was beautiful all day while we were setting up, but once the sun set we started freezing. so far the crowds have been a bit thin, but really that's making us more appreciative of the people who do come, and it gives us more time to talk to them and really get to know them. we're really looking forward to getting to duke tomorrow. let me tell you, if you're gonna have to be in one area for a few days, this is the place. we're staying up here and playing for about 3 more days. let me bring some closure to last night's entry. the show last night was definitely discouraging, but God totally brought the best out of it. i walked directly to my computer to write that entry after i walked off stage, in order to really get my feelings down fresh. i really appreciate everyone being so encouraging. basically, after some time passed last night, i got to meet and know the coolest guy. his name is bebo norman. i'm sure that you have heard of him before. if not, let me just tell you that he is one of most talented singer/songwriter/guitar players that we've heard in a long time. we've admired his work for quite a while. he and i have had many mutual friends, but had never actually met. he came by the show, and stayed around to talk afterwards. we talked about music, theology, and past hair styles (of which there were many, and most of them bad). we really hit it off. just know that bebo norman is one of the most down to earth and genuine guys that you could ever meet. i've loved his music for a while, so it was really nice to meet him and find out what a quality person he was. after giving him the bus tour, and getting his opinion on the reference copy of our new record, we discussed the possibility of us coaxing him out onto the road with us at some point. it was just an incredible meeting that God had planned. how was i to know. i think that that's just the point. makes me wonder how many times that God has had incredible things planned, and i've totally missed them out of my selfishness. sure gives me something to think about. God is really at work out here. having this journal is proving to be a real blessing. thanks so much for reading. please continue praying for us. i'll talk to you from durham, nc.

take care-
